Ken Laird is a western Pennsylvania native (Greensburg, Pa / Hempfield High School) who arrived back in the Steel City after five years in Boston, Massachusetts. He attended Northeastern University where he earned a degree in electrical engineering with a minor in music industry, and then blew off both interests to pursue a career in sports broadcasting. Ken cut his sports broadcasting chops at NU as the play-by-play "Voice of The Huskies" basketball, football, baseball, and hockey teams on Boston's WRBB 104.9FM. During college, Ken also worked at the legendary Sports Radio 850 WEEI as a "Dennis and Callahan Morning Show" lackey and night / overnight producer.

In 2002, Ken joined the ESPN Radio 1250 team as a producer, and was the steadying force of the Junker and Crow Show from its inception in July 2004. In August of 2006, Ken became the station's Steelers Reporter, as well as a talk show host for the Pittsburgh Gamenight (weeknights 7:00pm - 9:00pm) and Pittsburgh Gameday (weekends 10:00am - 1:00pm) programs.Ken also works for the MSA Sports Network, covering high school sports in the region.
