The Chicago Cubs have traded left-hander Rich Hill to the Baltimore Orioles for a player to be named later. Hill, who won 11 games in 2007 for the Cubs, lost command of his pitches in Spring Training of 2008 and never was able to get over the yips (inability to throw strikes). If Hill makes the 25-man roster for the Orioles, the Cubs will get a better player back from the Orioles in return.
The Cubs continue to get inquiries regarding Michael Wuertz. I expect the team to trade him today or tomorrow, with Oakland the team most likely to send young players back to the Cubs.
